Minors

Whether you are a health science student or in any other major at Oakland University, choose a minor in the School of Health Sciences to complement your degree program and gain additional experience. Explore the minors offered through the Department of Human Movement Science below, as well as additional options through the departments of Interdisciplinary Health Sciences and Public and Environmental Wellness.

Exercise Science Minor
Gain an introduction to the field of exercise science with a minor. You will take required core courses and then select electives that match your interests and goals. This minor is available to students in any major at Oakland University (other than the Exercise Science major). Learn more about a minor in Exercise Science in the undergraduate catalog.

Orthotist and Prosthetist Assistant Studies Minor
Gain first-hand knowledge and experience of the meaningful field of orthotics and prosthetics, as a means of supplementing your home major field (such as science, engineering, biology, social work and more). This minor is available to students in any major at Oakland University (except for the Orthotist and Prosthetist Assistant Studies major). (Students taking the minor will not be eligible for the orthotics and prosthetics certification exam or patient contact.)
