Community and Research

Research in the School of Health Sciences
The School of Health Sciences at Oakland University engages in research for the betterment of our local and global communities. The expertise of our faculty brings unique knowledge and skills to various biological, social, economic, and political dimensions of health. Our work is funded from local foundations and large federal granting institutions such as the National institutes of Health and Center for Disease Control.

Community-Based Health Research
Community-based research is a collaborative process that can remove various social, cultural, and logistical barriers. Through broad partnerships with public and private entities, research projects have been initiated to address community and societal health issues. School of Health Sciences students enhance their educational experience and develop important partnerships while making important contributions to these projects.
