Mechanical Engineering

Welcome to the Mechanical Engineering Department.

Mechanical Engineering is the discipline that applies the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery.

Mission

The Department of Mechanical Engineering carries out the mission of the School of Engineering and Computer Science by offering an undergraduate major in mechanical engineering, including various options. The department also offers a master´s degree program in mechanical engineering and a Ph.D. program in mechanical engineering. The Mechanical Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
