Nightingale Awards

This is more than just a night of professional awards.

With a strong history in tradition, the Oakland University Nightingale Awards for Nursing Excellence® has applauded the constant advancement of nursing through the work of outstanding professionals.  We come together to honor those who pursue excellence without compromise.  For three decades, this has been a night to acknowledge and strengthen the entire southeastern Michigan nursing community.

On May 12, 2020, we will gather at the San Marino Club in Troy, Michigan, for a celebration that includes a raffle, seated dinner and award presentation where 10 winners and 10 runners-up will be recognized in a variety of categories.

Proceeds from the event help Oakland University’s School of Nursing to provides scholarships for students and research opportunities for faculty, and to acquire cutting-edge technology and resources that will continue to ensure local access to advanced nursing education.

Please join us in celebrating and supporting the nursing community.

$200 for 200 Scholarship

The perfect gift on her 200th birthday

Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. Nightingale rebelled against society’s belief of the role of a nurse at that time and as one of the first statisticians and health care administrators, influenced much of the way healthcare is still delivered today.

On this 200th birthday of Florence Nightingale, we ask you to celebrate her exceptional contribution to modern nursing by making a gift of $200 to commemorate what would have been her 200th year.

Funds raised in honor of this exceptional milestone, will create a new scholarship that will be awarded to a student each year pursuing a degree in nursing that embodies the pioneering spirit, the intellectual foresight and passion to serve that shaped Nightingale’s legacy.

Those that have contributed to the $200 for 200 campaign will have the opportunity to be publicly recognized as a founding member of this scholarship at the Nightingale Awards for Nursing Excellence on May 12, 2020.

To make a gift today and impact the future of nursing, please make a donation online.
