Costs
The cost for each ESL class (4 CEUs) is $975. ESL programs are not covered by financial aid funding. Get more information on OU's Cost of Attendance used to determine financial aid eligibility.
Students Needing F-1 Visa
Before Oakland University can issue a Certificate of Eligibility (SEVIS I-20) for an F-1 student visa, to the United States, the applicant must certify his/her ability to pay for the following expenses:

* On-campus housing is available for ESL students.
** Students must purchase health insurance through Oakland University. Do not purchase health insurance in your home country for your program at Oakland. There are very few conditions under which a student can waive Oakland health insurance. Please reach out to the International Students and Scholars Office for more information.

Students With another Visa Type
For students living in the United States who already have a visa, no financial information is needed when applying to the ESL Institute.
