Research/Scholarship: 
Dr. Stevenson is interested in using mixed methods and community-based participatory approaches to improving health outcomes for individuals. Her research focuses on exploring helping behaviors in low-resource settings, improving physical activity and eating behaviors, and increasing individuals’ and communities’ capacity to improve overall health. Additionally, she has worked as a program specialist and evaluator for a number of programs locally and internationally surrounding HIV/AIDS prevention, youth empowerment, sexual health, domestic violence, human rights, physical activity and eating, and building community capacity. Current and former partners include the Cornerstone Foundation of Belize, Detroit SOUP, Healthy Pontiac We Can!, the Lawn Academy, and Oakland County Health Division.
