OU to host Denim Day to raise awareness of sexual assault
Denim Day
The OU community is encouraged to wear denim on Monday, April 18 to raise awareness of sexual assault.

In support of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Oakland University will hold Denim Day on Monday, April 18. That day, OU community members are encouraged to wear denim as a show of solidarity against victim blaming, misuse of justice and destructive attitudes about sexual assault.

In addition, OU community members are encouraged to donate denim apparel, such as new or gently used jeans or jackets. Monetary donations are also accepted. All contributions will benefit Haven of Oakland County and Turning Point of Macomb County.

Donations can be dropped off at the Center for Student Activities and Leadership Development (Room 49, lower level of the Oakland Center) from 8 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. and at the Oakland Center Fireside Lounge from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Those who make a donation at the Fireside Lounge will receive a free t-shirt.
