National Bring Your Child to Work Day falls on April 28 this year, but Oakland University will host its own BYCTWD on Friday, July 29.

The midsummer event, scheduled to avoid conflict with a busy time during the academic year, will give faculty, staff and their children an opportunity to share fun and interactive experiences on the OU campus.

“This half-day program is geared to our future Golden Grizzlies and giving them an incredible OU experience, as well as to showcase why their parent enjoys working at OU” said Krista Malley, coordinator and chair of the inaugural event.

Participants will take walking tours, read with the Grizz, meet OU students and enjoy other fun activities, such as getting a temporary Grizz tattoo.

Employee participation in the event will require supervisor approval. The BYCTWD Committee is also seeking volunteers for the event. Those interested in helping should contact Krista Malley at khmalley@oakland.edu.

Registration for Bring Your Child to Work Day will begin on Monday, May 10, and faculty and staff interested in taking part are encouraged to save the day. Additional details about the event will be shared with the campus community prior to that.
