Andy Grammer will visit Meadow Brook Music Festival for an April 15 concert.

Pop sensation Andy Grammer will headline the Oakland University Student Program Board’s spring concert on Friday, April 15, at the Meadow Brook Music Festival on OU’s campus. The show will kick off at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. The opening acts will be Brooklyn-based indie pop band Oh Honey, and ‘90s alternative revivalist band, COIN.

Discounted tickets will be available to OU students starting at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27. Student ticket prices are $25 for pit seating, $15 for pavilion seating and $10 for lawn seating. To receive the student discount, students must purchase tickets (with valid student ID) at the CSA Service Window, located on the lower level of the Oakland Center.

 

Tickets will be available to the public on Monday, Feb. 8. Public ticket prices are $40 for pavilion seating and $25 for lawn seating. Tickets can be purchased at the CSA Service Window or at ticketmaster.com.

With his 2011 self-titled album, Grammer became the first male pop star in a decade to reach the Top 10 at Adult Pop Radio on his first two singles, “Keep Your Head Up” and “Fine By Me,” certified Platinum and Gold respectively, selling more than 1.5 million downloads combined.

 

In just a few short years, Grammer has sold more than 250,000 albums, played to sold-out venues nationwide and performed onstage with Taylor Swift, Train and Colbie Caillat. He has also appeared on national TV shows and received song placements in film and TV.

 

In 2014, Grammer released his second album, “Magazines or Novels,” which featured the multi-platinum hit single “Honey, I’m Good,” which sold more than three million copies and climbed to No. 1 on the Adult Pop Radio charts. Following a successful year, Grammer joined the Season 21 cast of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
