Dr. Cameron Davidson joined Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in June 2023 as an assistant professor in the Department of Foundational Medical Studies. He focuses on behavioral aspects of medical training and teaches early career medical students about health behavior, behavioral change, psychopathology, and practical applications of behavioral change principles for the medical professional.

Dr. Davidson received his Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience from Wayne State University with a dissertation entitled, “An exploration of the Neurobehavioral and neurochemical outcomes resultant from abuse- and environmental- like exposure to volatile organic compounds.” Prior to joining OUWB, Dr. Davidson completed a two-year postdoctoral fellow position in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences, Wayne State School of Medicine. Dr. Davidson is an active member in the Michigan Chapter of Society for Neuroscience and currently serves as the councilor at large for the state.

Dr. Davidson places a great amount of emphasis on scholarship and academic leadership as a joint endeavor to provide up to date interactive and evidence based pedagogical approaches for practical medical learning outcomes. His teaching portfolio comprises Behavioral Medicine, Brain and Behavior, Cognitive Neuroscience, Abnormal Psychology (Psychopathology), Health Psychology, Sensation and Perception, Motivation and Emotion, Neurobiology of Addiction, Research Methods, Scale Development, and Advanced Quantitative Assessment. He also has experience in research on teaching practices focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to decrease bias in STEM focused learning.
