Cost

As the cost of on-campus housing continues to rise across the state, Oakland University remains committed to making the residential experience affordable for students. Factor in the savings you'll see in transportation and gas, and free amenities such as laundry, parking and wireless internet, and living on campus may be the smartest financial decision for you.

Housing costs are billed through the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, who also handles important payment and bill due dates.

Campus housing rates for the fall 2025-winter 2026 were approved by the Oakland University Board of Trustees in April 2025.

Oakland Community College Residents

Students from Oakland Community College who reside on Oakland University's campus are assigned to Van Wagoner House. If you are an OCC student who is interested in living at OU, we ask that you submit an interest form, and an OU staff member will reach out to you with more information.

The interest form for the winter 2026 semester will be available starting December 8, 2025.

Rates include a meal plan (Board Plan Option 1), and full membership to the Recreation Center.

Payment and Financial Aid

OCC students who live on campus at Oakland University will be responsible for the full cost of housing. Housing charges for the winter 2026 semester will be divided into four equal payments, which will be due on the following dates: January 5, 2026; February 15, 2025; March 15, 2025; and April 15, 2025.
OCC students who do not remain up-to-date on payments will no longer be eligible to live on campus at OU, and will be required to vacate their housing assignment as instructed via email.
Please note that OCC financial aid does not apply directly to Oakland University housing costs; students are responsible for ensuring timely payment.
