Graduate Student Research Conference

All graduate students are cordially invited to submit an abstract for the 2026 Graduate Student Research Conference (GSRC) to be held on the morning of Friday, March 13, 2026.

The purpose of the Graduate Student Research Conference is to (1) provide an opportunity for Oakland University graduate students to present their scholarly work in a peer-reviewed professional conference and (2) help prepare students for post-graduate scholarly opportunities.

You are eligible to submit an abstract if you are currently a graduate student or if you have graduated since the last conference held in April of 2025.  Fellows and residents are not eligible to submit an abstract.

Submit your abstract todayThe deadline for submission is Monday, January 12, 2026 by 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time.

Submission types include:

  • Case Study
  • Creative Project
  • Community Project
  • Program Evaluation
  • Project Concept
  • Quality Improvement Project
  • Research Study
  • Research-in-Progress (Projects that are in proposal stage and may have preliminary data to inform design)
  • Systematic Review/ Scoping Review
  • Theory/Model

Each submission type must include the following sections under each heading and information regardless of submission type for completed studies. The labels for each section must be present in the abstract.

  • Background
  • Purpose
  • Methods (either research methods or methods used to develop a theory, model, program, or project)
  • Results (either research results or description of the theory, model, program, or impact of the project)
  • Discussion and Conclusion

For Research-in-Progress studies, use the following sections:

  • Background/Significance
  • Purpose/Research Question(s)
  • Conceptual Framework/Design Rationale
  • Propose Methods/Pilot Methods
  • Progress & Preliminary Findings or Expected Outcomes
  • Potential Impact and Next Steps

Please check your name, co-authors’ names and the title.  No changes can be made to the names and titles once they are submitted.

Students may only submit one abstract as the corresponding author.

The abstract is limited to 2000 characters, including the words Background, Purpose, Methods, Results, Discussion/Conclusion, spaces, and punctuation.

Submissions that do not adhere to the above guidelines or that are not submitted by the deadline will not be reviewed.

In February, you will be informed if you have been selected to present at the conference.
