Faculty, Staff and Retiree Giving

Give OnlinePayroll Deduction

It is breathtaking the number of gifts given to Oakland University by employees. People not only give of their time, but they treasure finding new ways to support students, research, and so many initiatives on campus. They are colleagues who care.

The All University Fund Drive (AUFD) is an annual effort supported by the dedication of faculty, staff and retirees - Oakland University’s closest allies. Giving sets us apart as leaders striving to make a difference for our students and furthering the work we do.

Did You Know:

  • OU is a nonprofit organization and relies on donor support to keep education within reach and offer the programs on which we pride ourselves.
  • Many students receive scholarships that help ease the financial burden of a college education. Others participate in student organizations, research and other activities that benefit from donor support.
  • Tuition alone only covers around 81% of the cost to educate a full-time student. Donors like you help fill that gap.
  • You can give to your own department or area to help your work go further.
  • And all students benefit from the strong academic infrastructure that exists because of the generous support of our closest friends and allies, the faculty and staff who have dedicated their careers to this campus and those students.

Giving to OU through the AUFD is an opportunity to make a visible difference in the community and in the lives of our students. The quality of learning students engage in when the classroom is connected with the "real world" is tremendous. OU strives to increase community engagement through service and experiential learning courses, internships, volunteer opportunities, helping students to find their passion while supporting local communities. My personal giving is targeted to health initiatives and work that supports the Pontiac community!

OU is where my career began back in the 80’s. I left to raise my children and when it was time to resume working, I realized that I wanted to work at the university once again. Upon my return, I witnessed growth, advancement and development within the university. Student enrollment had dramatically increased, new programs were added to the curriculum, state of the art buildings were constructed and the university had gained a prestigious reputation. OU has become my working home away from home and I am certainly proud of all the accomplishments I've seen through the years. I look forward to being involved in the future growth at OU and will continue giving to AUFD…it has and will continue to make a significant difference.

As retirees we all spent many years on campus. I feel strongly that Oakland's retirees have an obligation to financially support the programs on campus that interested us most or simply give an un-designated gift to be used where most needed. There is no better way to do that than during the All University Fund Drive when our gift will get a 50% match from President Pescovitz.

There are hundreds of funds that have been established to support wonderful programs, services and needs for students and the OU community. Each one has a great story behind it. I feel participating in the AUFD is an investment in ourselves that pays never-ending dividends. Every investment matters, no matter the size. The critical thing to do is participate at a level that is comfortable for you.

I give to the Oakland University Annual Fund because it is an opportunity for me to support the programs and students that I am committed to everyday. Working at Oakland University is more than a job. It is an opportunity to change lives and shape the future of families and communities. We all make a difference every day with our work at Oakland. However, I believe sharing a small or large bit of our compensation through the Annual Fund shows our students and the community that we believe in our work and are willing to take an additional step for their success. Please consider contributing this year.

OU has been our home for 24 years. At first it was just a way for us to extend our K-12 careers by preparing the next generation of teachers. However, it didn’t take long for us to recognize the tremendous possibilities for growth OU offered to us as faculty members and, more importantly to the students at all levels. We know so many instances when Oakland changed students’ lives in powerful and dramatic ways and it is important to us that this work continues and endures! That is why we support the All University Fund Drive.

The official AUFD Campus Competition is underway!  Top units for percentage in both a large unit category and a small unit category will be crowned champions with a brand new traveling trophy.

Participation will be calculated based on full time employees who give.  Part time employees will count as a sort of “extra credit,” adding to the numerator and the denominator.

Example: A department has 10 full time employees and five of those give – that’s 50% participation (5/10); the same department also has five part time employees who participate.  This takes the participation to 66% (10/15).

A large division is defined as having 100 or more full time employees; small divisions have less than 100 full time employees.
