Young Alumni Chapter

The Oakland University Alumni Association (OUAA) Young Alumni Chapter is an unincorporated, non-profit, volunteer-based chapter of the Oakland University Alumni Association. It exists to inspire young alumni to be lifelong Golden Grizzlies through OU pride, active engagement, community involvement and recognition activities. The Chapter also serves in an advisory capacity, informing the main OUAA Board and Alumni Office regarding strategies to engage this audience.

Chapter Mission Statement

"To cultivate meaningful connections and engagement among Oakland University’s young alumni, fostering professional growth, lifelong learning, and a spirit of community while supporting the university’s mission and advancing its legacy."

1. Networking & Outreach
• Identify young alumni who have the potential to positively contribute to the ideals of the Young Alumni Chapter.
2. Community Engagement & Philanthropy
• Organize and support volunteer initiatives and philanthropic efforts that give back to the local community and OU.
3. Engagement and Recognition
• Champion social gatherings that foster and strengthen alumni bonds and celebrate OU pride.
4. University Support & Advocacy
• Attend OUAA meetings and advocate for the young alumni perspective.
