Program Dates - Winter 2022
MUS 3100: Global Arts Study Abroad: Ghana (4 credits)

Will Learn
Sign up for MUS 3100. This semester long course, offered by the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, includes one week of study during the February break at the Dagara Music Center. At the center, located in Medie north of Ghana’s Capital city of Accra, student’s receive daily instruction in the performing arts. In addition, students will study African history and languages, visit Cape Coast Castle, Anumabu Beach Resort, and Kakum National Park.

Fri, Feb 19 - Depart Detroit
Sat, Feb 20 - Arrive in Amsterdam (brief layover), continue to Accra, Ghana
Sun, Feb 21 – Check in and Welcome Activities at the Dagara Music Center
Mon, Feb 22 – Full Day of Lessons at Dagara Music Center
Tue, Feb 23 – Lessons at the DMC and go to Accra: National Museum, Lunch, Arts Center Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum.
Wed, Feb 24 - Trip to Cape Coast
Tour of Cape Coast Castle, Afternoon at Anomabu Beach Resort
Thu, Feb 25 – Morning at Anomabu Beach Resort
Afternoon at Kakum National Park then return to the DMC
Fri, Feb 26 - Full Day of Lessons at Dagara Music Center
Sat, Feb 27 – Morning Lessons, Afternoon final performance and party
Evening depart DMC to airport
Sun, Feb 28 – Return to Detroit
