Event Credentials

Oakland University Event Credentialing Process

ID Card Operations is responsible for issuing campus identification cards and credential badges. ID Card Operations will work with departments to create and issue event credentials. To discuss credentials for campus events, contact the ID Card Office at (248) 370-2291.

Department Responsibilities:

  • Departments will meet with ID Card Operations for a consultation before the event to go over the event request including the event date, location, and number of individuals requiring a credential.
    • The department will provide ID Card Operations with a written list of all individuals requiring a credential prior to the event date, including legal name, email, and individual role.
      • The preference is to get a majority of the list as early as possible, with the understanding there will be later additions.
  •  ID Card Operations will contact event staff and communicate the credentialing process. Communication will be individualized depending whether or not the individual has previously received a credential and has an up-to-date photo.
  •  Using the provided list, ID Card Operations will print credentials for all event staff.
    • Pictures on file can be used if the picture was taken within the last three years.
    • Pictures will be retaken if the picture is older than three years or if ID Card Operations staff determines the picture needs to be updated.
    • If an individual requires an updated photo, they will be notified to come to the ID Card Office in room 149 of the Oakland Center. A Photo ID (Driver’s license, state ID, passport, GrizzCard) is required if a photo is not currently in the ID Card Operations system.
