Educational Resources Lab
UPDATE January 15, 2021
The ERL is open with limited capacity and limited services. Regular business hours are Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
We have social distancing and safety protocols in place. Seating is limited, the racks of books are closed for browsing and the manipulatives & puppets are unavailable at this current time.
When you enter the ERL, please proceed to the check-in area where a staff member will help you find a book, or issue you a seat for study and/or computer use. We recommend using the “pick from shelf” feature within the ERL library catalog whenever possible, so we can arrange for contactless pick-up. If you plan to visit the ERL in person, and will need assistance with locating books or materials, reservations are strongly encouraged via our ERL Appointment Form so that our staff is aware and ready for you.
Through this time we still remain committed to assisting our students, faculty and staff with all of their needs. Please do not hesitate to contact us via email, Google Chat and/or Google Meet.
ERL books, materials or devices can be returned at our circulation desk during business hours. There are also drop boxes both outside and inside of Pawley Hall. All books/items will be held in quarantine for three (3) days before returning to the shelves.
Please continue to watch this webpage for updates. ERL staff will work to support you as a student, staff or faculty member as best we can.
- If you have a specific book, seek reading recommendations, or have a curriculum material need, please email ERL Coordinator Barb Campbell at begincam@oakland.edu
- If you have a question regarding a fine or renewal, please email erl@oakland.edu, or Alicia Arbour, our Circulation Manager at aarbour@oakland.edu
- If you have a technology question or need, please email Julie Chapie at chapie@oakland.edu or the SEHS Technology Team at sehstech@oakland.edu
As we continue to adjust to new ways of providing resources and educational materials, the ERL will maintain and update open access resources in the space below.
- Visit the Michigan eLibrary (MeL), free educational resources for all Michigan residents
- Check your local public library website for e-books, audiobooks, free online databases and any virtual engagement programs they may offer
- Review this updated list of free and open access PK-12 educational resources gathered by Barb and Julie
