The Gretchen J. Adler Study Abroad Endowed Fund

The International Studies Program  (ISP) announces the availability of  scholarships from the Gretchen J. Adler Study Abroad Endowed Fund. Awards may be used for tuition, fees, books, travel and/or room and board expenses relating to student participation in a University-approved study abroad program, during the Academic Year 2024-2025. University-approved study abroad programs are those listed on the web page of the Office of International Education. Following donor preferences, the award is limited to students who intend to study in Europe or China. More than one award may be given.

Students otherwise eligible for this award include those who:

  1. be undergraduate students enrolled in a humanities or social science major program in the College of Arts and Sciences,

  2. have successfully completed at least 8 credits of study of a foreign language relevant to their study abroad plans or program and

  3. preference will be given to students who study abroad for one full Oakland University semester—fall, winter, or the entire summer semester.

Kaviuk & Kirachuk Slavic Studies Scholarship Application

The scholarship was established in memory of Mr. Frederick G. Kaviuk and Ms. Mary Kirachuk to assist eligible students who are committed to the study of Slavic life, culture, language or history.

The R. F. and Robert C. Howes Slavic Studies Fund

Established by Robert C. Howes, Director of the Honors College in 1985 and Dr. and Mrs. Annan to contribute to the advancement of Slavic Studies at Oakland University.  This will include speakers' honoraria, purchase of books, purchase or rental of films, faculty or student travel, and financial aid to students.  Students interested in this fund should contact Liz Shesko at [email protected].
