Presidential Search Committee announces forum schedule
As a reminder, the Oakland University Board of Trustees voted to retain the search firm Academic Search, Inc. to assist in identifying candidates from whom the Board may select the University’s next president.
To receive input from faculty, staff, students and administrators on the kind of leadership the Board should be seeking, Academic Search will facilitate five open forums on Tuesday, Jan. 10 and Wednesday, Jan. 11 on campus. Some members of the Search Committee expect to be in attendance at all forums. While each forum is open to all, specific sessions will be held in the Oakland Center Banquet Rooms as follows:
Tuesday, January 10, 2017
- 3:15-4:15 p.m.: Open Forum for faculty, students, staff and administrators
Wednesday, January 11, 2017
- 8:00-8:45 a.m.: Open Forum for staff and administrators
- 9:00-9:45 a.m.: Open Forum for Faculty
- 10:00-11:00 a.m.: Open Forum for Students
- NOTE: Student Congress and Student Organization leaders: 11:15 a.m.-noon
- 1:15-2:15 p.m.: Open Forum for faculty, students, staff and administrators
Senior Consultants Jessica Kozloff, president of Academic Search, and William Howard, vice president, will visit campus to participate in the open forums and to meet with members of the campus community and the Search Committee.
The role of the consultants is not to select the next president, but rather to support the work of the Search Committee. The consultants will help ensure that the search and selection process is managed effectively so that the Board of Trustees can achieve the goal of securing the best possible leader.
In the coming months, Academic Search will work with the Presidential Search Committee to identify up to three finalists who will visit campus in the spring. The Search Committee will start advertising for applications and its consultants will begin active outreach as soon as this campus visit has concluded.
