Think a career in business might interest you? The Oakland University business school invites OU students to its Explore Business Careers events. These speed-networking style events offer a quick, close-up view of specific business careers, including: 

  • Career paths within the major
  • Hard and soft skills needed for success
  • Projected job growth and trends in the field
  • Networking with employers
  • Talking with current business students about their experiences
  • Meeting faculty and staff
  • A FREE meal

OU Pre-Health 101: The BIG Picture

(Designed for freshmen, sophomores or students newly exploring a health career.)

With the increasing difficulty of being accepted to health professional programs, it is more important than ever to rely on accurate information and begin preparing early.​ ​This session will provide an overview of important topics "The BIG Picture" to help you explore health care as a career and become a more competitive applicant.  

Some of the topics covered include:
  • Patient contact -​ importance of ​shadowing and volunteering
  • Coursework and admissions exams
  • Timing and strategies
  • Connecting with future letter writers​ (recommendations)​
If you are interested in becoming a physician, physician assistant, physical therapist, dentist, pharmacist, etc., then this workshop is for you!
