All faculty members and interested scholars are invited to attend this Soundings Series event featuring Ali Woerner, Associate Professor Dance and Co-Director/Co-Founder of Take Root.

Ali has translated her dance experience and interest in health into the successful Dance for Parkinson's Disease classes, which have reached countless people living with Parkinson's Disease. Her classes are offered at Oakland University, the Older Person's Commission in Rochester, and St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in Pontiac. She has engaged the community through these classes, incorporating a wide variety of volunteers including majors in dance therapy, physical therapy, nursing, occupational therapy, and more! To highlight her successful program in Oakland County, Ali's classes were recently featured on TV62's "Eye on Detroit." Join Ali for an active discussion about engaging the community!

Refreshments provided. Please RSVP to Leanne DeVreugd.

The Soundings Series will continue in the Winter 2018 semester. Information on upcoming events and an application to become a presenter can be found on the Soundings Series webpage - https://oakland.edu/research/sounding-series/
