Reopening Campus

Once again, Oakland University will be excited to welcome both new and returning students to campus this fall. The COVID-19 pandemic and the university’s commitment to protecting the health and safety of all campus community members will shape an academic year unlike any seen before, and the most striking changes will be tied to a reduced population of students, faculty and staff on campus at any given time. Despite this unfortunate but temporary necessity, Oakland will focus on what will not change in the midst of this challenge or any other, and that is a deep commitment to pursue academic excellence and to provide exemplary service to students and the broader community.

Oakland University’s Reopening Campus web section provides a wealth of information pertaining to a safe, productive and enriching return to both on-campus and remote learning activities. All campus community members and visitors are encouraged to use this online resource to learn about myriad actions the university is taking to promote public health, as well as what each community member can and should do to help limit the spread of the virus. Through this web section, the university will provide regular updates regarding our response to the pandemic.

Working together, the campus community will continue to nurture exceptional levels of student, faculty and staff success, regardless of whether interactions take place face-to-face or virtually through the engaging learning and work environments that modern technology provides. Most importantly, the university will remain vigilant and determined to preserve health and safety, all while continuing to provide first-class educational and public service experiences.
