Schedule of Classes
Rolled schedule edits to Banner are due by these dates. You may have internal deadlines (Chair or Associate Dean) that are earlier. Edits stop until the schedule is published, and then edits can resume via Schedule Adjustment Forms.
- Summer 2021 due November 23, 2020
- Fall 2021 and Winter 2022 due December 18, 2020
All other adjustments to the schedule of classes after these dates are to be submitted via the Schedule Adjustment Form as described in the Policies and Guidelines tab.
Seat Counts
CSITS supports the classroom inspector available here. A simple seat count list is available on a Google sheet.

Classroom waitlist
Schedule of Class Production
- Policy 190 charges the Office of the Registrar with the management and assignment of general purpose (GENP) classrooms. Policy 370 outlines the different types of facilities on campus.
- Schedule of Classes User Guide
- General purpose optimization
- Schedule Adjustment Form are required to be submitted after the established deadlines for the rolled schedule.
- The Classroom Location Change Form may be used for location change requests only. Please note: all location assignments are initially determined based on your College/School needs as well as preferences. Changes to the recurring optimization should be discussed with your Assistant/Associate Dean who oversees the schedule of class production.
- Final Exam Request Form may be used to request a room assignment for a final exam not listed on the final exam schedule.

Time modules
University Senate has established both primary and secondary time modules. Out-of-module times require approval through the designated College/School Assistant/Associate Dean and the Office of the Registrar.

How to view the scheduling calendar, scheduling grid or available rooms by time?
If you have the GENP Reports user role, you can view what sections or events are scheduled in general purpose classrooms. This will also allow you to see open times for your planning purposes.

Please note: While a classroom may be available when you view the scheduling calendar or grid, the request of a GENP classroom still needs to be requested and approved for official assignment. Visit the classroom request page for more information how to request a GENP classroom.

How to manage my non-general purpose (non-GENP) classrooms?

Ad Astra has assumed all classroom scheduling. Non-GENP classroom scheduling instructions. - Events
Ad Astra has assumed all classroom scheduling. Banner will no longer use UC 290. Follow the instructions to create an event, or setup one-on-one training by emailing cagoeth@oakland.edu. If you do not have access to the appropriate Ad Astra role or you have questions about the rooms assigned to your area, please email regscheduling@oakland.edu.
Other Functions
Additional functions are available for academic areas that would benefit from them, such as having a college/school/department specific scheduling grid and/or calendar. Please contact the Registrar Scheduling Team to discuss further or coordinate a training session regscheduling@oakland.edu.
Training
One-on-one or group training can be requested by emailing cagoeth@oakland.edu. Additionally, on-demand support can be coordinated via screen sharing to address individual questions or issues.
