2020 Diverse Voices Conference - Oakland University - Press Release

On Saturday March 21, 2020 the Eighteenth Annual Diverse Voices Conference will be hosted at Oakland University located in Rochester Michigan in Varner Recital Hall from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. The aim of the Diverse Voices Conference is to provide a supportive forum for Oakland University [OU] students, faculty, staff and community members to learn about and speak out in support of valuing all aspects of human diversity. This Year’s Conference Theme: is What Does Inclusivity Look Like in a Virtual World? The keynote speaker for this year’s conference will be Dr. Warren E. Whitaker, Sr. Postdoctoral Fellow in Education from the Department of Organizational Leadership in the School of Education and Human Services [SEHS] at OU. Additional guest speakers Include: Michelle Southward, Director of Academic Advising and Student Services from the School of Health Sciences at OU, along with graduate and undergraduate student speakers from SEHS. Entertainment will be provided by the OU Steel Drum Band. Refreshments will also be provided. Admission is FREE to this conference and open to the public. This conference is being sponsored by the Office of the Provost, the Division of Student Affairs and Diversity, and the Department of Organizational Leadership in SEHS.
