OU and Pontiac to celebrate collaborative achievements at town hall meeting
Oakland University and the Pontiac community joined forces in 2014 for a broad-reaching, meaningful collaboration that emphasizes community engagement and mutually beneficial relationships. It is called the OU/Pontiac Initiative.
The groups will get together on Saturday, November 12, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Woodside Bible Church - Pontiac Campus, located at 830 Auburn Avenue in Pontiac.
The free event is open to the public and begins with a light breakfast to be followed by presentations, discussions and planning sessions. The morning is meant to celebrate the achievements of the program’s first two years and plan for the future.
“We are absolutely thrilled with progress made in so many areas of mutual interest between Oakland University and the Pontiac community this past year,” said President George W. Hynd. “I hope that members of our campus will attend the celebration to learn more about the collaboration that so many have poured time, energy and expertise into to date. We also hope to attract new people who are interested in getting involved as we move forward."
