Hamadeh Educational Services (HES) officially launched their new academic building, the Career Technical Education center (CTE) on September 8, 2023. Named "The Nest," the building is located in Dearborn and serves as a hub for students to gather and get hands-on experience in specified subjects geared toward future careers. The building also features a radio center, lead entirely by the students.

Among the most popular programs is live radio broadcasts, the certified nurse aide program and a child development associate program. The Nest gives students from Universal Academy, one of OU's Public School Academies, and other HES Academies opportunities to get practical experience and training in fields which they may find themselves in someday.

“The Nest is a vibrant addition to our community that promises to be the voice that connects us all,” said Superintendent Dr. Ali Bazzi prior to counting down the ribbon-cutting ceremony. He later added that the CTE center started as an idea, by asking, “What else can we provide public education?” after going through COVID-19, virtual learning, and an eventual return to the classroom. Their answer was The Nest, whose radio station brought in 3,500 listeners at their grand opening. Their radio features the student’s selection of music along with featured guest speakers for interviews.

The courses offered at CTE are open to all HES high school students, although Dr. Bazzi says classes are mostly junior and senior level students. A number of the courses offer college credit to students and hundreds are already joining waitlists for these classes. Watch Click On Detroit's highlight of The Nest online.
