Meadow Brook Hall in USA Today’s Best Historical Holiday Home Tour contest

Historic Meadow Brook Hall, on the campus of Oakland University, is one of 20 entries in the USA Today’s annual contest for the Best Historic Holiday Home Tour as selected by a panel of national travel experts.

Now, it is up to the public vote to rank the best tours. People can vote once per day. The voting for this year’s contest ends at noon on Monday, December 1 and the top 10 rankings will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 10.

For nearly a decade, Meadow Brook Hall has consistently placed in the top 10 of the contest. In 2023, Meadow Brook Hall  took fourth place in the contest. In 2022, Meadow Brook earned third place in the contest. And, last year Meadow Brook Hall came in second place.  View past award results here.

A National Historic Landmark, Meadow Brook Hall was built by Matilda Dodge Wilson, widow of auto pioneer John Dodge. Constructed in Rochester, Mich. between 1926 and 1929, the 110-room Tudor mansion is especially renowned for its superb craftsmanship, architectural detailing and grand scale.
