More than 200 Oakland University students, faculty, staff and friends are expected to participate in the 40th Annual Macomb County Santa Parade on Saturday, Nov. 21. With the largest group to date, 2015 marks the fifth year of OU’s participation in the event.

The parade, presented by the City of Mount Clemens, features 100-plus participant groups including high school marching bands, service clubs, floats, holiday characters, Mount Clemens “Local Treasure” residents and flags showcasing Macomb County communities. Oakland University will be among the largest of the groups proudly marching down Main Street to usher in the beginning of the holiday season.

Oakland's group will meet at the Anton/Frankel Center (20 South Main Street, Mount Clemens) at 9 a.m. for refreshments and check-in and the parade begins at 10 a.m. Participants are also invited to bring a non-perishable food item which will be donated later this month to support the Hope Center in Macomb.
