Biography:
Andrea Wenz is an historian of Early Modern Europe, specializing in the history of early modern Italy and the Protestant Reformation. Her current book manuscript, Ochino’s Exile and the Composition of an International Reformation, examines the publications of the Italian Catholic preacher, Bernardino Ochino, turned Protestant reformer to explore how issues of exile and mobility facilitated religious change in the sixteenth century. She has presented her work at annual meetings of the Renaissance Society of America, the Sixteenth Century Society and Conference, and the Society for Reformation Studies, which meets annually in Cambridge, England. In the summer of 2022, she had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the NEH Summer Seminar, “Printing and the Book During the Reformation, 1450-1650” at The Ohio State University. Professor Wenz enjoys teaching classes on the Reformation, the Renaissance, and early modern Italy, among other topics.
