A shared NetID account is a NetID e-mail account that is shared by multiple people in a department. 

  • To obtain a shared NetID account, a Shared Account Request Form must be completed.

  • There is a one time set up fee of $100.
  • The account must be renewed annually at no extra cost. To renew the account, submit the Shared NetID Account Request form and select the "Renew Account" radio button.
  • To change the name of an already existing shared account, the account owner shall submit the Shared NetID Account Request form and select the "Modify Account" radio button. Describe the new account name in the comments section above "Office Use Only".
  • If a shared account owner needs to report an error on the account, open a Footprints ticket with the Helpdesk and provide the error message.

E-mail Re-name Notes

  • UTS can rename a shared NetID account based on established naming conventions (spaces are not allowed, special characters are not suggested).
  • Shared NetID account have a 15 character limit.
  • The name of the shared NetID account should reflect the department or the purpose of the account.
  • There is one name change allowed per calender year. Additional name changes within a one-year period will be charged a $100 set-up fee.

After the account owner submits the completed form, UTS will contact the account owner to coordinate the change.
