Canadian Student In-State Tuition

Graduate students from Canada may automatically qualify for Oakland University’s Non-Resident Award. This scholarship awards new graduate students the difference between resident and non-resident tuition rates.

Non-Resident award for Master's students

In-state tuition for two years

The scholarship is awarded to qualifying Canadian citizens who have earned a baccalaureate degree (equivalent to a four‐year U.S. degree) and have been admitted to an Oakland University graduate degree*. The scholarship is the difference between resident and non-resident tuition rates. Master's-level students are eligible to receive the scholarship for up to two years (four semesters).

*Students admitted to an online graduate degree or a graduate degree which is assessed by a program rate, rather than the standard graduate tuition rate, are not eligible for this scholarship. Degree programs assessed by a program rate include: 1) Oakland University William Beaumont (OUWB) School of Medicine, 2) Oakland University Beaumont Nurse Anesthesia Program and 3) Oakland University Executive Masters of Business Administration.

Non-Resident award for Ph.D. students

In-state tuition for five years

The scholarship is awarded to qualifying Canadian citizens who have earned a baccalaureate degree (equivalent to a four‐year U.S. degree) and have been admitted to an Oakland University Ph.D. program*. The scholarship is the difference between resident and non-resident tuition rates. Ph.D. students are eligible to receive the scholarship for up to five years (ten semesters).

*Students admitted to an online graduate degree or a graduate degree which is assessed by a program rate, rather than the standard graduate tuition rate, are not eligible for this scholarship. Degree programs assessed by a program rate include: 1) Oakland University William Beaumont (OUWB) School of Medicine, 2) Oakland University Beaumont Nurse Anesthesia Program and 3) Oakland University Executive Masters of Business Administration.
