Meeting of Minds

Undergraduate students at the University of Michigan – Dearborn, the University of Michigan – Flint, and Oakland University are encouraged to participate in the 25th annual session of the Meeting of Minds (MOM) Undergraduate Research Conference on Friday, May 12, 2017, on the campus of Oakland University.

This conference is open to students from all disciplines and majors and provides an extraordinary opportunity for students to present the results of their scholarly and creative endeavors through oral or poster presentations or in live performances.  Presenters may also consider publishing their projects in the Meeting of Minds Journal.

Participants will gain valuable experience in the process of scholarly collaboration by presenting the products of their efforts to an audience of faculty and peers.  Whether you intend to go further with post baccalaureate education or to start your career after graduation, or even if you are not really certain about your direction after graduation, having strong and practiced communication and presentation skills will be an asset.

Students who have not yet gotten to the point where they are ready to present the products of their scholarly and creative endeavors are strongly encouraged to attend.  You will not only have the opportunity to hear about many exciting projects but also to see first-hand the types of presentation skills that you will want to master prior to your own graduation.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of this showcase of student-faculty collaboration in service of outstanding student achievement, we are inviting MOM alumni, both former students and their faculty, to “Come back to see MOM” once again.

Students from Henry Ford Community College, Mott Community College, Macomb Community College and Oakland Community College, and their faculty and administrators of course, are invited to attend the conference to see the opportunities awaiting them if they choose to continue their education at any of the host institutions.
