Programs
Making Meditation a Habit
Thursdays - January 14 through February 25
12:15 p.m.
Recreation Center Conference Room

Did you know that meditation can relieve stress and make you feel happier, more calm, and peaceful? Medical studies have shown that meditation can improve health, increase energy, and help you function at your optimum. For meditation to work, just like exercise, you have to do it regularly.

Join us for this 7-week program where you'll learn a simple yet powerful 15-minute meditation and be supported in keeping up a regular practice. We'll meet weekly to meditate together and look at benefits and challenges of fitting meditation into daily life.

For more information please contact Stephanie Willis at willis@oakland.edu or call 248.370.4968.

Maintain Don't Gain
Monday, November 23 - Friday, January 8

Join this holiday program to assist you in your efforts to stay active and to navigate you through those holiday meals. This program offers all who sign up an opportunity to be pre-assessed for blood pressure, weight, BMI and body fat through a BIA handheld machine prior to Thanksgiving. Weekly emails will be sent to all who sign up, with tips on how to avoid over indulging at holiday gatherings and be well through the season. Following the start of the Winter 2016 semester, all participants may participate in a post assessment to check if they maintained their pre-assessment values.

Walk with Campus Leaders
SPRING 2016 - Dates and Leaders Coming Soon!

Are you looking to be more active during your lunch break? Join us for a casual walk to socialize with other individuals on campus and recharge for the rest of the day. WWCL will return in the spring with a selection of new and returning campus leaders to walk with at lunch time. This is time to discuss hobbies, family, and vacations – no work talk allowed. Dates for Spring are coming soon! All walks will begin at 12:15 pm from the Elliot Tower or indoors on the track in the Recreation Center (depending on the weather).
