Entrepreneurial student mixes business with graphic design
O'nel Kalasho, the founder and designer of his own clothing line, tailored his program to his creativity and his business aspirations.
With the idea to start a clothing line, the Bachelor of Integrative Studies program at Oakland University allowed O’nel Kalasho to structure a personalized major to guide him through what he felt was needed to better his business venture.

Founded in 2013, ODRD Collective that looks to set itself apart through original designs and commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Their current offerings include: hats, jerseys, sweatshirts, tees, leather goods and other accessories (all of which are designed and printed in Michigan or are entirely made in the USA).

“With a program tailored to my specific needs, I was able to pick and choose what was best for me” said Kalasho, who is the founder and designer for ODRD. “With the ability to integrate graphic design classes as well as business courses, I am able to further my knowledge and apply it to ODRD.”

A recent photo shoot featured other OU students modeling Kalasho’s ODRD Collective clothing with OU’s National Historic Landmark, Meadow Brook Hall, as the backdrop.
