John and Marie Pino Endowed Scholarship for Teacher Education

John and Marie Pino have a long-standing relationship with Oakland University. As leaders who empower others, they have been influential in moving the School of Education and Human Services forward. John’s involvement began in the early days of the University where his father, Dr. Lewis N. Pino, was a chemistry professor and later an administrator on campus. John grew up in the faculty sub-division and spent much of his childhood on campus.

Years later, John and Marie offered their support to the School of Education and Human Services by offering an annual scholarship to honor John’s father, Lewis N. Pino, and no have created this endowed scholarship for teacher education.

 Eligibility Requirements:

  • undergraduate student enrolled in elementary education or secondary education
  • minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Award Information:

The John and Marie Pino Endowed Scholarship for Teacher Education award is approximately $1,000 each year. Recipients may re-apply for this award in future years.
