The Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost is the University’s chief academic officer with general responsibilities for the University’s academic programs, personnel, and resources. The Provost has direct oversight responsibility for the College of Arts and Sciences and the Schools of Education and Human Services, Business Administration, Engineering and Computer Science, Nursing, Health Sciences and the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.
The Provost also has oversight responsibility for the Registrar, Honors College, Kresge Library, Outreach, the Office of Research, the Office of Graduate Education and Academic Administration, the Office of Undergraduate Education, the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment and the Eye Research Institute. The primary duty of the Provost is to ensure the quality of education and research at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. In chairing the Academic Council and the Deans’ Council, the Provost works directly with senior academic administrators and faculty on the campus to achieve this mission.
