Staff Spotlight: Steve Kent
| Steve Kent joined the OU INC administrative team as the Finance and Operations Coordinator in April 2013. With a background in business spanning approximately 30 years, and management positions held at companies such as IMB, Lenovo and Siemens Enterprise Communications, Kent has contributed his vast expertise in business development to OU INC. “I’ve been at OU INC since April 2013 and I’ve enjoyed every second here. Where else can you negotiate an agreement with NATO, legally drive a forklift wearing a tie, help cook lunch for 50 hungry STEM Outreach students, interact with an OU Dean, and work with outstanding interns, all in the same day,” Kent said. Kent received both his Bachelors in Psychology and Management and his Masters of Business and Administration from Oakland University. While attending the OU INC Night of Networking Event in November of 2012, Kent had the opportunity to learn about OU INC and the mission of the PureMichigan SmartZone. “Kent has been a welcome addition to the OU INC Team,” said Amy Butler, Executive Director. “His contributions to the organization are leading us to the next level of business development.” Kent has been instrumental in continuing the development of OU INC’s business plan and guiding the three summer interns. In his free time, Kent enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. Kent's daughter is in her second year of college, and Kent enjoys going on camping expeditions with his sons' Boy Scout Troup. |  |
