Dr. Penprase has several research initiatives at Crittenton, Beaumont and Henry Ford Hospital (HFH).  Her primary research addresses Alarm Fatigue, Empathy vs Systemizing Traits in Nurses and Frequent Users of the Emergency Department (ED). She has served in many different roles for the SON. She developed and implemented the Accelerated Second Degree Program in 2005 and served as the Director until December 2009. She has been dedicated to teaching and has been nominated for the Teaching Excellence several times and won this prestigious teaching award from OU in 2009. She was the first fellow from the SON for Center for Education Teaching and Learning (CETL) and worked with faculty throughout the university. She continues to teach at all levels for the SON and stays actively involved in many DNP and Master research projects. Her American Nurse Education Fellowship reflects her commitment to her role in teaching.
