Dr. Berishaj received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice Degree from Oakland University in 2013, her MSN in Nursing Education and Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist Certificate from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2009, and her BSN from Madonna University in 2000. She holds certification as a Forensic Nurse and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner in the Adult/Adolescent population.  She served as a critical care nurse for the Detroit Medical Center for more than 13 years and is currently practicing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner for HAVEN in Oakland County and    Turning Point in Macomb County.  Dr. Berishaj has been a faculty member in the School of Nursing at Oakland University since 2007 and is the coordinator of its Forensic Nursing program, the first program of its kind in the state of Michigan.
