Meadow Brook Hall nominated in the Vote 4 the Best Contest

Meadow Brook Hall has once again been nominated for “best museum” and “best wedding venue” in WDIV Local 4’s annual “Vote 4 the Best” contest.

Built by Oakland University founders Alfred and Matilda Dodge Wilson, widow of auto pioneer John Dodge, Meadow Brook Hall operates as a self-supporting auxiliary of the university. The historic house museum and premier event venue hosts more than 50 weddings a year, with revenue supporting preservation and interpretation of the National Historic Landmark.

Voting takes only a few clicks on the WDIV website and visitors can vote for The Hall in both categories once per day. To participate, voters can log in using their FaceBook account or by signing up for a Vote 4 the Best account on the WDIV site. The contest continues through Tuesday, Aug. 2.

This year’s winners will be announced online at ClickOnDetroit.com/4thebest during the week of Aug 10. Some winners will be featured on the “Local 4 News Today,” “Live in the D” and “Local 4 News First at 4” television programs.

All campus community members and Meadow Brook Hall supporters are encouraged to promote historic preservation, community engagement and education by voting in this year’s contest.
