Nadine Deleury, cellist, was born in Arras, France. She studied at the School of Music of her native city before entering the Paris Conservatoire where she studied with André Navarra. Upon the invitation of Yale University cello professor Aldo Parisot, she came to the United States in 1979 and received her Master degree in performance. She moved to Detroit with her husband DSO cellist Haden McKay and became principal cellist of the Michigan Opera Theatre orchestra in 1985. She joined the Oakland University Faculty shortly after and is now also the cello instructor for Oakland University’s Preparatory Division.

In 1998, with violinist Velda Kelly she founded Chamber Music at the Scarab Club, a series held in the heart of Detroit, known for its creative programming.
