After serving as interim chair, Department of Surgery, Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Frikker, M.D., as chair, Department of Surgery, OUWB. He has also been appointed chief of surgical services and chair, Department of Surgery at Beaumont, Royal Oak where he was serving as interim chair.

Dr. Frikker is a graduate of the Wayne State University School of Medicine. After completing his surgical residency at Beaumont and a fellowship in critical care surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital, he joined the medical staff at Beaumont, Royal Oak.  Throughout his career he has had a busy general surgical practice, served as surgical director of the renal transplant program, and was the program director of the general surgery residency at Beaumont, Royal Oak. His current clinical practice is dedicated to surgical intensive care, trauma surgery, and acute care surgery.

Dr. Frikker’s exceptional integrity, knowledge, judgment and leadership skills are ideally suited to his new role.  Please join us in congratulating him and wishing him every success.
