OU is honored to have Aaron Westrick, Ph.D., police officer and former Director of Research at Second Chance Armor who blew the whistle on his employer for knowingly selling defective bullet proof vests to law enforcement and the military.

His story has been featured on CBS and he has spoken on Capitol Hill at the 2018 National Whistleblower Appreciation Day. Westrick was also the 2018 recipient of the Pillar Award, which honors whistleblowers who as result of telling the truth, experienced some form of retaliation or hardship.
