MGT 4900 Globalization Impact Europe

Explore European business through Prague, Czech Republic, and London in the United Kingdom during winter break 2018. The class will focus on doing business in the EU. Research is required - history, economic impact, problems with the PIIGS and BREXIT. There will be an emphasis on the importance of economic, cultural, political, currency and historical differences in doing business in each European country. Program runs Thursday, February 15 – Sunday, February 25.

Where You
Will Be

The experience begins in Czech Republic for five days followed by five days in the United Kingdom.

What you
will do
and learn

The days in the Czech Republic will be filled with company visits and cultural experiences. We will enjoy a day sightseeing in the city with stops at the Prague Castle, the largest coherent castle complex in the world, and walk around the Old Town, where you will walk thruogh the city's tfairy-tale small lanes and see its marjor landmarks including Old Town Square and its astronomical clock, Wenceslas Square and Charles Bridge. From Czech Republic, we fly to London where we explore the Windsor Castle, The Shard, the tallest building in the United Kingdom and London's highest viewing point. The adventure concludes with post –Brexit sessions, and a sports venue management presentation with a tour of Wembley Stadium.

Business dress for the professional meetings and tours, plus 10 days of travel clothes.

Requirements

Must be enrolled in MGT 4900 Winter 2018 to participate in the trip abroad. Classes will meet on most Saturdays during the semester.

A valid passport is required. A visa or visas may be required based on country of passport and travel destinations.
