The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is an organization of students living in the residence halls that provides a voice for residents, and promotes community among the various buildings. RHA assists the hall councils in developing better living communities and creating programs and events where students can interact in a diverse setting on campus.

The Residence Hall Association is designed to be an educational experience for those who participate. For those students engaged in planning and coordinating Residence Hall Association activities, the experience is intended to foster and develop the qualities of leadership, management and cooperation, which when carried out in accordance with the goals of Oakland University, place the activity in the realm of co-curricular activities.
Chartwell's Committee
This committee is for students who would like to have a say in the types of foods that are served to on-campus residents. Participants provide suggestions for improvements to the menu and overall dining experience in the Vandenberg Dining Centers and Tilly’s Marketplace. Participation on this committee also provides a great foundation of the skills needed for other leadership positions.

Programming Committee
The Programming Committee is comprised of students who are interested in being actively involved in the creation and implementation of major events that take place on the campus of Oakland University. Participants plan large-scale events such as the Zombie Walk and Siblings Weekend, and also plan smaller programs throughout the year in an effort to bring the residence halls together as a community. Participating on the Programming Committee provides the opportunity to get to know members of other committees, as well as the RHA E-Board, and to contribute your own skills to the larger group effort to create enjoyable events all year round.

Grizzpose Committee
The main purpose of the Grizzposé Committee is to plan and execute a large-scale charity event designed to benefit a specific charity of the committee’s choosing; this event will take place toward the end of the winter semester. Preceding Grizzposé, committee members will organize and participate in smaller events that will also aid in fundraising for the specified charity. Therefore, this committee is suitable for residents who enjoy leadership positions, have a passion for giving back to their communities, and appreciate the opportunity make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Student Outreach Committee
This committee is comprised of students who wish to have a voice and a vote in the types of programs the Residence Halls Association creates. The Student Outreach Committee is a way for students to represent the floor on which they live, and to show support for the programs they think should be created for the benefit of the residents. Meetings entail an overview of what will be presented in the “Business Meeting” that week, as well as fun, light-hearted activities for the participating group. While acting as Floor Reps, committee members are provided not only with the opportunity to meet and bond with new people, but also to develop valuable leadership skills.

Advertising Committee
The advertising committee is designed to give students the chance to use their artistic skills in the creation of advertisements for the Residence Halls Association. This committee is in charge of creating fliers, banners, t-shirt designs, and other forms of advertisements for RHA events. The advertising committee is also in charge of photography at RHA events for social media purposes such as Facebook and Twitter. This committee is a great way to get graphic design and marketing experience, and puts participants in the center of all of RHA’s action.
