Each residence hall room includes:
  • extra-long twin bed and mattress (except for the Private Bedroom Suites in Oak View Hall, which have full-size beds)

Residence Halls

OU has seven unique residence halls located in the heart of campus. That means everything you need -- classrooms, labs, the Rec Center, food and Kresge Library -- are all within a 10-minute walk. 

Living in the residence halls provides the ultimate college experience: growing and learning with like-minded students in a fun, yet safe, environment.
Hamlin
Hamlin is a nine-story, twin-towered, freshman hall that features:
  • suite-style living arrangements for four, five or six people sharing a private bathroom
  • loftable beds in each bedroom
  • study lounges on each floor
  • reception desk staffed during the day
  • laundry facilities (six washers and dryers on the third floor of each tower)
  • 670 student capacity (new students only)
The main floor has a large lounge with a big screen TV, vending machines, seminar rooms, computer lab and the University Housing Office. Hamlin is also home to the First-Year Experience (FYE) students and the MY FYE, Pre-Nursing, Pre-Business, and Engineering Living Learning Communities.

Room Specifications

Each room in Hamlin is 11’ 2” x 12’ 6” with a ceiling height of 9’. Homemade lofts are not permitted; materials to loft your bed are provided at move-in.

Please note: the bedrooms located in the corners of each floor have additional square footage; these are the bedrooms that may house three students, instead of two, per bedroom.

Vandenberg
Vandenberg is a seven-story, twin-towered, upperclassman hall that features:
  • suite-style living arrangements for four or five people sharing a private bathroom
  • lounge and study areas on each floor
  • reception desk staffed during the day
  • laundry facilities (six washers and dryers on the first floor of each tower)
  • 540 student capacity (new and returning students)
Vandenberg Hall houses the Vandenberg and Vandy II Dining Centers, as well as the Eco-Interest Living Learning Community and Greek Special Interest Floor.

Room Specifications

Each room in Vandenberg is 11’ 2” x 12’ 3”. Ceiling height on the second floor is 7’, on the seventh floor it is 9’ and on all other floors it is 8’.  The furniture provided in the rooms can be lofted in multiple configurations with no additional materials from you. Homemade lofts are not permitted; materials to loft your bed are provided at move-in.

Van
Wagoner
Van Wagoner is a six-story, freshman building that features:
  • double-room-style living for two people
  • community bathrooms in the center of each floor
  • study rooms on each floor
  • laundry facilities (four washers and dryers on the first floor)
  • 200 student capacity (new students only)
The main floor has a lounge with big screen TV, vending machines and microwave ovens.

Fitzgerald
Fitzgerald is a two-story, upperclassman building that features:
  • double rooms with community bathrooms
  • laundry facilities (four washers and dryers in each wing)
  • 96 student capacity (new and returning students)
The main floor has a lounge with big screen TV, fireplace, vending machines and microwave ovens.

Room Specifications

Each room in Fitzgerald is 12’ x 15’ 6”. The beds may be lofted with no additional materials from you.  Homemade lofts are not permitted; materials to loft your bed are provided at move-in.

Oak
View
Oak View is a six-storied, freshman (Honors College freshman only) and upperclassman hall that features:
  • double room and suite-style living arrangements for two people sharing a private bathroom
  • in-room kitchenettes with microwaves and refrigerators
  • an expansive lounge and study area on the main floor with computer access and printing station
  • additional study and sky-box lounges on upper floors
  • reception desk staffed during the day
  • community kitchens
  • laundry facilities
  • Tilly's cafe and convenience store

Room Specifications


Oak View Hall houses two types of suites, the Double Room and the Private Bedroom Suite.

Double Rooms are 12'1" x 13'4", with a ceiling height of 9'10".  The furniture provided in the room can be lofted in multiple configurations with no additional materials from you. To view potential furniture configurations, please click hereHomemade lofts are not permitted.

The single-occupancy bedrooms within Private Bedroom Suites are 9'8" x 9'8", with a ceiling height of 9'10". Beds in these suites are full-sized, and lofts are not permitted.

Our newest residence hall, slated to open for Fall 2018, is a seven-storied, upperclassman hall that features:

  • in-room kitchenettes with microwaves and refrigerators
  • 400-seat dining center
  • 100-seat micro-restaurant
  • fitness center staffed by University Recreation and Well-Being staff members
  • expansive main lounge with computer access and printing station
  • additional study lounges on upper floors
  • community kitchens 
  • laundry facilities
  • 750-student capacity (new and returning students)

Please note: there will be a cost differential between our rates for the new building and rates for the traditional halls. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
