Meet the Staff

Meet the Staff

Students and alumni may speak with a Career Consultant during open advising hours. This is a great opportunity for students with brief questions and concerns to come in and speak with a coordinator on a first-come, first-served basis.

Career Ambassadors are a career resource for students from all different majors and classes. By meeting with students, they spread the word about the resume, interview and job search help that Career Services provides.

Steven Tocco
Junior
Communication Steven

Steven is a Junior majoring in Communication at Oakland University and this is third year in Career Services. His new position as Career Ambassador Program Coordinator is a new and exciting leadership position that he enjoys more than pigs enjoy rolling in slop. His favorite band of all time is The 1975 because he likes passion, realness and rectangles. His greatest dream is getting an awesome resume ready for each and every OU student, and he hopes that students come in with questions regardless of where they are in the job search, or how little they know about careers.

Alex Kleckner
Junior
Pre-Business Administration
Alex

Alex is a Junior Finance student here at OU. His favorite form of exercise is smoking his brother in anything. He became a man at age 12. The last time he was nervous was when his boss yelled at him to finish this bio. The best gift he ever received was Mistletoe Magic lotion with matching lip balm, and his autobiography would be titled "Couldn't Tell Ya if I Knew".

Angela Foley
Senior
Biology
Angela

Angela is a Biology major that is graduating in April. The most recent thing that made her a stronger person is realizing that, although she loves biology, it’s not something she wants to do forever; which is why her dream job is working in Higher Education as an advisor for pre-medical students. Although it’s her first semester as a Career Ambassador she’s no newbie to working for Oakland because she loves being a Golden Grizzly. She is currently obsessed with listening to The 1975, Twenty One Pilots, and Walk the Moon. Her favorite food as a child was peanut butter, and if she had to pick a favorite TV show it would be Parks and Rec. One of the hardest things she has ever done would be moving to Michigan to attend Oakland, leaving her family behind in her home state of Washington.

Christian Goolsby
Freshman
Psychology
Christian

Christian is going into his second year at Oakland University and this is his first semester as a Career Ambassador. His major is Psychology with hopes to become an Industrial Organizational Psychologist. A favorite quote of his is, “Know yourself and you will win all battles”, written by Sun Tzu. If he could learn to do anything it would be to computer program. Christian is positive that if he is reincarnated, he would be a 1-gallon tub of Michigan Pothole Ice Cream (it’s better than it sounds). He looks forward to the year ahead at OU and Career Services.

Danielle Wade
Senior
Human Resources Management
Danielle

Danielle is in her third year at Oakland University and this is her first year as a Career Ambassador. She spends her free time by writing novels and watching good movies. She would like to learn how to speak Spanish and play the piano. Her favorite superhero is Batman! Her friends would describe her as one to always think ahead.

Jaclyn Nasir
Junior
Bio-Engineering
Jaclyn

Jaclyn is in her third year as a Bioengineering major and this is her second semester working for Career Services. Her #1 most played song is Closer by The Chainsmokers. Her favorite food as a child was olives. If she could meet anyone, dead or alive, it would be Brendon Urie from the band Panic! at the Disco. She's been told many times that the celebrity she resembles is Anna Kendrick. If she could be any fictional character she would be Meredith Grey from Grey's Anatomy.

Jahnavi Gudi
Freshman
Pre-Business Administration
Jahnavi

Jahnavi is in her freshman year at Oakland University and this is her first semester as a Career Ambassador. She is currently pursuing a degree in pre-business. One store that she would most likely max out her credit card at would be Costco. The top three things that she has on her bucket list are; to go parasailing by the ocean, to go sightseeing in London, and to go bungee jumping in Colorado. Her favorite month is October when all the leaves start to change colors. Her favorite form of exercise is running. If Jahnavi had to be a character on a TV show she would choose Grey's Anatomy.

 Jillian Endsley
Senior
Creative Writing

Jillian

Jillian is a senior at Oakland University, and this is her first year as a Career Ambassador. She’s a Creative Writing Major and is currently working on a variety of original screenplays. She loves the quote, “You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think” by A.A. Milne (the author of Winnie the Pooh). One goal Jillian has is to travel out west and sleep under the stars. The first CD Jillian ever bought was “Breakaway” by Kelly Clarkson. If she had to pick a favorite franchise, she would choose Star Wars. On any given day, you can find her binge-watching Netflix in her apartment, or writing while listening to music.

Kandace Crickon
Junior
Health Sciences

Kandace

Kandace is in her junior year and is majoring Health Sciences with a concentration in Nutrition and Health. This is her first semester on the Career Ambassador team. Her top played song is Guinevere by Eli Young Band and she loves the sound of string instruments. Her favorite time of the year is the fall because it's sweater weather. Her favorite outdoor activities are cross country running and kayaking. If she could be a fictional character she would choose to be Harry Potter because he is awesome at being awesome.

Kyle Wills
Junior
Pre-Business Administration

Kyle

Kyle is in his second year at Oakland studying Business and this is his first semester at Career Services. If he could have anyone as a mentor he would pick Simon Sinek, the author of the book, Start With Why. Steve Jobs would be the person he would meet if he could travel back in time. He is an avid outdoorsman and his favorite thing to do in the outdoors is to go backcountry camping. Kyle is also a photographer and if he could photograph anything he would like to photograph Northern Alaska. The first thing he would do if he won the lottery is buy a RV and a yacht to travel the world.

Megan Tack
Senior
Human Resources Management
Megan

This is Megan’s second semester as a Career Ambassador and her second year at Oakland University. If she could travel anywhere in the world, it would be Spain. Megan always believes any book is most definitely always better than the movie version! The first CD she ever purchased was the soundtrack to the Lizzie McGuire movie and she has not looked back since. Megan says that, to be entirely honest, she would not survive a zombie apocalypse unless someone with some serious zombie-fighting skills took pity on her and let her tag along.

Paige Sparkman
Senior
Integrative Studies

Paige

Paige is a senior at Oakland this year with a major in Integrative Studies. Her career interests include academic advising, school counseling, and school social work. Her favorite time of year is fall because she sings, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” as soon as the leaves start turning. Her favorite food used to be mac & cheese but is now chicken tacos… mmmmm. If she could learn to do anything it’d be to play an instrument or speak a second language. If she were to pick a mentor, it would be Tammy Tibbetts, the founder and president of She's the First, a girls' education and youth leadership non-profit.

Shalie Borton
Sophomore
Pre-Business Administration

Shalie

Shalie is returning for his second year as a Finance Major. This is her first year as a Career Ambassador. The last TV show that made her cry was Grey's Anatomy. The chore Shalie hates most is doing the dishes. Shalie's favorite time of the year is Fall and if she could go anywhere in the world it would be France. In Shalie's free time she dances, lifts, and hangs out with her friends.
