Peer-to-Peer Academic Assistance

The School of Business Administration is invested in helping its students succeed in the classroom.

Peer-to-Peer academic assistance is available for many of the required accounting, economics, finance, mathematics, and quantitative methods courses. Assistance with Microsoft Office software is available in the Elliott Hall open lab. Business students in good academic standing will be available in Elliott Hall at various times to assist students.

The School of Business Administration hires students in good academic standing for the school's Teach for the SBA initiative.

As Help Room Associates, students are required to help for a minimum of 5 hours per week at a rate of $50/5 hours. The hours are flexible but the same schedule must be followed every week.

Nida Ashraf
Nida is a junior, majoring in Finance and minoring in Management Information Systems. This is her first semester as a Peer-to-Peer Assistant for SBA. She is also a Student Ambassador for SBA and involved in FMA, AIS, and PSA-OU student organizations.

Brandon Beran

Brandon Beran
Brandon is an Accounting major who splits his time at OU between schoolwork and various club activities. He is the President of the Board Game Design Club and the Treasurer of the Video Game Making Club. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, disc golf, video games, and board games with his friends and family.

Noah Nicholl

Noah Nicholl
Intrigued by the financial markets, Noah is intending to major in finance. He is a Presidential Scholar as well as a member of The Honors College. Aside from assisting his peers with accounting courses, Noah likes to be engaged in other areas of the Oakland University community. He is the treasurer of the Society for Applied Investing and Financial Education (SAIFE) and he is also an Executive Board member of Oak View Hall's House Council. Additionally, he is currently employed by Oakland University Housing. When not working or focusing on school work, Noah enjoys being active and participating in Intramural sports on campus.

Rachel Redmond

Rachel Redmond
Rachel is excited to start a career in marketing after she graduates in April 2016. She has a passion for market research and uncovering why people do what they do. She has completed four professional internships, held several leadership roles in student organizations, and worked her way through college.  Through an internship and coursework related to market research, she has gained experience with both qualitative and quantitative methods, data analysis, using SPSS, building surveys, moderating online journals, and proofing questionnaires. She has a particular interest in consumer packaged goods.

Taseen Syed

Taseen Syed
Taseen Syed is a junior, majoring in accounting. He is tutoring precalculus and calculus for the SBA. Taseen is an avid car and motorcycle enthusiast, and cofounded OU's first car club: Motors Club of Oakland.

J Wysocki

Joseph Wysocki
Joseph is a Finance major minoring in business analytics. An OU Presidential Scholar, Joseph is heavily involved on Oakland’s campus. In addition to tutoring fellow business students in economics and QMM through the business school’s Peer to Peer Academic Assistance program, Joseph is President of Global Business Brigades and secretary of the Society for Applied Investing and Financial Education (SAIFE). In the community, Joseph coaches an 8th grade football team during the school year and a 10-12 year old baseball league in the summers. Plante Moran selected him for an internship position for Summer 2016.
