Research: Molecular Mechanisms of Steroid Hormone Action in Normal and Cancer Cells

Dr. Moudgil investigated the molecular mechanism of steroid hormone action for more than three decades. Early work in his laboratory centered on examining structural and functional alterations in progesterone and glucocorticoid receptor proteins induced by phosphorylation, and hormonal and antihormonal ligands. His lab also examined hormonal regulation of tumor suppressor proteins, p53 and retinoblastoma, in human breast cancer cells.
