Dr. Daniel N. Aloi

Daniel N. Aloi is an Associate Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and the Founding Director of the Applied Electromagnetics and Wireless Lab at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. He received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Ohio University in 1992, 1996 and 1999, respectively. He has been employed at Oakland University since January 2002.  Dr. Aloi was a Sr. Project Engineer at OnStar, Inc. (2000-2001) and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Ohio University (1999-2000). His research areas include applied electromagnetics and various areas of the global positioning system (GPS) in the automotive and aviation industries. Dr. Aloi has attracted $1.8M dollars in external funding as PI, authored over 40 technical papers and obtained 5 patents.

Dr. Andrew Rusek

Andrew Rusek is a Professor of Engineering at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. He received an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Warsaw Technical University in 1962, and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the same university in 1972. His post-doctoral research involved nano and pico-second sampling oscillography, and was completed at Aston University in Birmingham, England, in 1973-74. Dr Rusek has been very actively involved in automotive industry with research in communication systems, high frequency electronics, and electromagnetic compatibility. He received 1995-96 Oakland University Teaching Excellence Award, and in 1999 he received School of Engineering and Computer Science, John D. and Dorotha J. Withrow Teaching Excellence Award.

Dr. Mohammad S. Sharawi

Mohammad S. Sharawi was a research scientist with the AEWL from March 2007 until October 2009. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabial. His areas of research are applied electromagnetics, wireless systems, RF circuits and planar antenna designs. Dr. Sharawi was a faculty member at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Philadelphia University, Jordan, during 2007-2008. He has several refereed publications in the area of applied electromagnetics, signal processing and circuit design. Dr. Sharawi served as the organizing committee chair for the IEEE fifth International Conference on Systems, Signals and Devices (SSD) in 2008.
